Chris Nickson asked me to do this talk on Educational Leadership and Subversion based on our work here in the UK. It was great to share our experience here and to reflect on how we came to develop St.Emlyn's.

Thanks to the Intensive Care Network for publishing the audio from SMACC2013 on the Anarchy in the UK talk, and for the awesome picture above. This was designed to explain the journey that St.Emlyn's has taken form the first attempts at asynchronous learning through to our embracing of #FOAMed and all that it has to offer.

This week the GMC has published a report on emergency medicine training in the UK (press release here). The report follows a series of visits to UK emergency departments looking at how training is delivered and how service change and delivery influences the effectiveness of education.

This week a little attempt at #dogmalysis for ultrasound education in the UK. I want this to make you think about the links between what we teach and learn vs patient outcomes.

It was a long day. After getting home from a late shift the night before, I was up at 4 to catch my 0530 train, and toddled off down to London.
