Privacy policy. St Emlyn’s

This is an update to our privacy policy in light of the GDPR regulations that come into effect on 25/5/2018.

Data collection

In principle we try and collect as little data as possible. Our main contacts are through the email subscription lists.

Email lists.

All our email subscribers have chosen to subscribe by personal intent. We do not send unsolicited emails and do not share or distribute our email subscriber contacts. If you receive emails then it’s because you asked to receive them and have confirmed that you wish to do so via email. You can change your email preferences by clicking on the Subscription Options button at the end of the email sent out from the site.

To set up and process subscriptions, we use the subscriber’s email address, as well as the ID of the post or comment (depending on the specific subscription being processed).In the event of a new subscription being initiated, we also collect some basic server data, including all of the subscribing user’s HTTP request headers, the IP address from which the subscribing user is viewing the page, and the URI which was given in order to access the page (REQUEST_URI and DOCUMENT_URI). This server data used for the exclusive purpose of monitoring and preventing abuse and spam.

We collect cookies on the site and ahve added in a check box to make sure you are happy with this. For our site visitors Functionality cookies are set for a duration of 347 days to remember a visitor’s blog and post subscription choices if, in fact, they have an active subscription.

Right to be forgotten

If you are a registered user of the site you can delete your data on this site by going to your profile page and clicking on the delete me button.
