SLO 6: Practical procedures

The outcome

Develop the judgement and technique needed for emergency procedures, including preparation, safe performance and supervision appropriate to your training stage.

St Emlyn’s summary, not the full official wording. Read the current RCEM SLO and requirements.

What this means in practice

Practise a procedure with observation and feedback; identify what needs supervised practice with patients.

Choose a procedure and use its linked guidance, a suitable trainer and appropriate supervision. Reading or practising with a card does not establish procedural competence.
