Cian works as the Director of Emergency Ultrasound Education and is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine in the Mater University Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. He spent several years in Melbourne, Australia working in Emergency Medicine and specialising in point of care ultrasound (POCUS) He has been an organising committee member and ultrasound workshop director of the global conference Social Media and Critical Care (SMACC.net.au) conference (now CODA, codachange.org) and he leads international POCUS workshops in Europe, North American and Australia He is a local US trainer in Ireland and is a heart lung and abdomen mentor for FUSIC in the UK
